Design Story: A Green Stone Held in Open Silverwork
These green crystal green crystal earrings begin with a simple idea: let the stone sit in the middle and let the silver open up around it. A round faceted crystal is framed by a polished silver circle, and behind that circle the metal becomes a pierced cage of curling vines and small leaf shapes. The openings are cut through the silver, not stamped on the surface, so the pattern changes as the earring turns.
From the front the green crystal earrings is graphic and calm: one clear green circle inside a bright rim. From the side it becomes lighter than it looks, because the hollow filigree housing lets the background show through. That contrast is the whole design — a solid, saturated colour at the centre and airy silverwork around it.
The silhouette stays close to the earlobe and finishes at about 24 mm, which makes these silver filigree green crystal earrings easy to wear with a plain shirt as well as with evening pieces.
