White Chalcedony Ring Design Story

The whole idea of this ring is contrast. A milky, semi-translucent white chalcedony dome sits in the centre, and a thin band of glossy black shell enamel runs around it. Between the two, a continuous row of small clear cubic zirconia catches the light.

Vintage in character, but cut clean: the stone is smooth and undivided, the enamel is flat rather than carved, and the band stays slim so the ring reads quietly from a distance.

The Stone: White Chalcedony

Chalcedony is a cryptocrystalline quartz with a waxy, semi-translucent surface. In this ring it is cut as a low dome, so light passes a little way into the stone before returning.

The supplier lists the centre stone as white chalcedony and the surround as black shell enamel. Nothing here is dyed glass or foil-backed.
