Discovered by Dr. Henri Moissan in 1893 in a meteor crater, moissanite is literally born of the stars. Its extraordinary optical properties include a refractive index of 2.65-2.69 (higher than diamond's 2.42) and a dispersion rate that creates noticeably more rainbow fire. Each stone in these moissanite heart studs 925 silver is precision-cut to GIA-inspired standards, graded D-color (colorless) with VVS1 clarity.
