This is a production case study for Vintage Butterfly Gemstone Wide Band Ring, 925 Sterling Silver 18K Gold – a piece MIRAMETAL builds in its own Guangzhou workshop. It documents how the piece is actually made, what a buyer controls before production starts, and how the order moves from a reference to a packed carton.
What this piece has to do
A multi-stone ring looks forgiving in a photograph and unforgiving in the hand. Stones set at different angles read as sloppy, and a wide band has to carry its own weight without warping. The production risk is concentrated in the setting, not the casting.

How MIRAMETAL produces it
Every step below runs in-house – CAD design, mold-making, casting, stone setting, polishing, plating and quality control. Nothing is subcontracted, which is what keeps an approved sample and a bulk run on the same route.
Casting
The wide band is cast in 925 sterling silver with the butterfly relief formed in the same piece, so the motif is part of the metal rather than an applied decoration.
Stone layout
The pear and round cut cubic zirconia are laid out across the band to the approved drawing before any setting begins – the layout is what decides whether the ring reads balanced.
Setting and plate
Each stone is claw set individually, then the ring is 18K gold plated as one piece so the plating reaches the recesses under the stones as well as the high points.
Inspection
Every stone is checked for level and security, and the plating coverage is checked before the ring goes to packing.
Quality and compliance
ISO 9001 certified workshop, EU REACH and US CPSIA compliant. Every piece is inspected before it is packed: stone security where stones are involved, plating coverage, surface finish and the 925 hallmark. Inspection photos can be provided before dispatch, and the QC record for a batch is kept so a repeat order can be checked against the original approval.
Order terms
MIRAMETAL has been making jewelry in Guangzhou Since 1990 – 30+ years of production – and works with jewelry brands in international markets. Orders start from 1 piece, sampling runs 3-7 days after design approval, and production covers CAD design, mold-making, casting, stone setting, polishing, plating and quality control.
Frequently asked questions
Can a multi-stone ring be produced from my own CAD or a reference image?
Yes. CAD design and mold-making are both in-house, so a reference image can be turned into an approved CAD and then a physical sample before production.
How do you keep the stones level on a wide band?
The stone layout is fixed against the approved drawing before setting starts, and each stone is checked individually after it is set. The inspection step re-checks every stone for level and security.
What plating is used?
18K gold plating over 925 sterling silver, applied after setting as one piece so the tone runs across the band and into the recesses under the stones.
What is the minimum order quantity?
One piece. You can approve a sample ring and then release the bulk run against the approved sample.
